Generative AI refers to artificial intelligence systems that can create new content, such as text, images, music, or code, based on patterns learned from large datasets. Instead of selecting from existing responses, it generates original material in response to user prompts. Tools like Copilot and DALL·E are examples of generative AI. In education, these tools can assist with drafting, brainstorming, and visualizing concepts. While generative AI can be highly useful, its outputs should be reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and bias, as it does not “know” facts in a human sense.
